Tier structure

Four tiers, one trajectory

A licensed assessment places the subject institution in one of four tiers. Each tier carries a plain-language narrative of what the score means, the typical capability profile, and the priority reforms that move the institution toward the next tier.

Emerging0–35

Structural competitiveness constraints compound across sectors.

Your Discovery Preview places you in the Emerging tier. Private sectors at this stage typically face compounding challenges across productivity, innovation adoption, market access, and workforce capability. The instinct to improve everywhere at once is understandable but rarely effective; sequencing interventions by likely return per year of effort is the durable path.

Developing36–60

A mixed picture — some sectors competitive, others structurally behind.

Your Discovery Preview places you in the Developing tier. Private sectors at this stage typically have leading sectors pulling the economy forward and lagging sectors dragging on aggregate productivity. The licensed assessment does two things simultaneously: identifies what makes the leaders strong (which may be portable) and diagnoses the structural issues in the laggards (which usually need different interventions).

Advanced61–80

A competitive private sector — the question is next-decade positioning.

Your Discovery Preview places you in the Advanced tier. Private sectors at this level typically have multiple internationally competitive positions and the strategic question shifts from closing gaps to choosing what to win at over the next decade. The licensed assessment is often commissioned alongside industrial-policy design work or as the analytical substrate for a national competitiveness strategy.

Leader81–100

A benchmark private sector — the work is defending and extending.

Your Discovery Preview places you in the Leader tier. Private sectors at this level are usually a small regional cohort and have earned the right to shape CARICOM-wide competitiveness conversations. The licensed assessment is valuable here for institutional-grade strategic reporting and for board-level communication to shareholders, investors, and government partners about defensible strategic position.
